Schools around Australia break up around mid-December, and for the kids, the days to follow are some of the best of the year.
For the grown ups, it usually means a solid six weeks of looking for things to keep the kids busy (AKA, going to lengths you'd sometimes rather not talk about to keep from hearing "I'm bored!" 20 times a day).
To solve everyone's summer holiday boredom blues, make sure you book a day at your local AMF Centre.
What's on at AMF this summer
A couple of bowling is the perfect way for the kids to catch up with school friends, learn how to work as a team and celebrate one another's successes.
In the Laser Tag battlegrounds, they'll have a chance to use a bit of built-up energy, learn the basics of strategy and come out with that electric look in their eye characteristic of having a blast (and not quite being ready to leave).
Let them loose on the arcade area which is jam-packed with all their favourite games, as well as some old classics (by the way, there's nothing stopping you from joining in and showing them how it's done). They can hit the race track, try to pick up some goodies to take home from the claw games, shoot some hoops on the basketball games and dance up storm on Dance Dance Revolution.
AMF also caters food and drink options, with plenty of healthy choices such as wraps and fruit platters, as well are your classic hot dogs and burgers.
Better yet, if you feel the kids are old enough, you can either drop them off for a few hours and disappear, or simply relax in our bar and cafe areas with a hot cuppa and some well-earned snacks of your own.
Book online, then start your own countdown to a day that's as fun for the kids as it is relaxing for you.
