Father's Day is just around the corner, falling on Sunday, 6 September this year! A survey by The National Retail Federation found that $12.7 billion is spent on gifts for daddy in the United States alone. Now, to really make dad feel like a king, it's not just about the price tag, but also the love and thoughtfulness of the pressie.
With that in mind, here are the top five things to do with your first-ever superhero on this special day.
1) Let him think he's really good at something
Take him bowling and let him win. Think of it as payback for all the years he let you be the champion on the sports field! Bowling is a great way to bond with dad, not just giving him a physical gift to unwrap, but also to spend some quality time together.
Why not invent a cool Father's Day fist bump or custom high-five to break out when one of you scores a strike? Create some chants and cheer your big guy on.
2) Tell him he's a great dancer
Get him up on our Dance Dance Revolution games and have a good laugh (without him seeing). Psst ... if your dad doesn't quite have the rhythm of a swan, direct him to our article on tips for improving his boogy on this arcade machine.
3) Give him the type of food he loves
Try our new menu and get him one of our amazing new burgers. Food is the way to the heart, and as you both chomp down on our juicy, big burgers you're sure to drool. Share some golden fries or chicken nuggets, and wash down the meal with milkshakes or by clinking a cold beer with dad if you're over 18. Sounds like heaven!
4) Take him back to his childhood
Challenge him to a game of laser (again, let him win) and remind him how much fun it was to play! There are some fun Mission: Impossible spy moves you can both bust out as you sprint through the corridors and jump over obstacles.
5) Tell him you love him
Even though he's your dad and he probably hates all that lovey dovey stuff, this is the one day of the year you get to tell him how you really feel about him. Give him a big old hug and say "I Love you dad"!
